Ground & Return

Home practice

A home yoga app that keeps the order for you.

The hardest part of home practice is often the beginning. Ground & Return makes the first question simple: what is today's practice?

Short answer

Ground & Return is a home yoga practice app built around a clear daily path, manual pacing, pose references, and local-first privacy.

Key facts

  • daily sequence
  • manual pacing
  • remembers where you stopped
  • optional reminder
  • works as a quiet mat-side reference
  • no social feed

Details

The sequence is already chosen

Home practice can collapse under too many choices. Ground & Return removes the class picker and gives you one path to follow.

That makes the app especially useful on ordinary days, when the practice needs to begin before motivation becomes a debate.

The phone should not lead the practice

The app shows the order, the next pose, and the reference image. It does not try to keep your eyes on the screen for the whole session.

You advance manually, pause when needed, and let the pose take the time it needs.

What an ordinary session looks like

Open Today and the current session is already waiting. The card shows where you are in the larger path and which practice comes next, so the first minute is not spent comparing classes.

Start the practice player and move pose by pose. The reference image and method notes are available when needed; the next control is manual, so a pause, a repeated side, or a longer rest does not put you behind a video.

When you stop, the app remembers the place. A notebook is available for what you noticed, and one optional reminder can make tomorrow's return easier without creating a public streak.

Private by default

Practice state lives on your device. There is no login and no social layer. Optional Apple Health support is there only if you choose to use it.

A practice, not a catalog

The app answers two questions: what is today, and what comes next?

The Today card locates the session in the 28-week path. The practice player then shows one pose at a time with manual controls, so the screen can stay at the edge of the mat.

  • Today opens directly to the current day and sequence.
  • The player keeps pose order visible without setting the pace.
  • Progress is saved locally so an interrupted session can be resumed.

Questions

Can the app help me build consistency?

It can reduce friction by keeping the next practice clear. Consistency still comes from returning, but the app removes a lot of decision fatigue.

Does it require internet?

The app ships with its sequence data and pose references. Network access is mainly for App Store purchase verification.
